Meet the Feathers

Not only do we get to celebrate Power Woman Amelia Earhart on National Amelia Earhart Day, but I could not imagine a more brilliant way to introduce a curation of jewels that are inspired by an avian theme: Meet the Feathers!

SUCIYAN

Amelia Earhart was on a quest to become the first woman to fly around the world. In a similar vein, I am delighted to share @ArmanSuciyan's collection called “Odessy” that evokes bird-like forms in motion, inspired by goddesses of Greek, Roman, and Egyptian mythology.

Suciyan is a Turkish designer who began his career as a goldsmith apprentice at 15 in the covered bazaar in Istanbul, followed by university in the UK and was a specialist craftsman at Stephen Webster. Arman's sinuous aesthetic gives flight to these orange sapphire winged creatures and evokes a powerful sense of the universe.

Feral Jewelry Aquamarine Talon Pendant

FERAL JEWELRY

Much like Amelia Earhart was an independent spirit, keen for adventure, @FeralJewelry is infused with a bold, fearless beauty that endures!

This egg-shaped aquamarine jewel takes flight clutched by a silver and diamond-encrusted talon and is imbued with Susan's wildly precious vision.

DAOU JEWELLERY

@DaouJewellery’s Phoenix Ear Climbers are inspired by a mythological bird and literally possess the fierce power of TRANSFORMATION!

Once an original heritage design from the 70’s, they were known as “Wonder Woman earrings”. Dalia reworked her father’s design into strong, feminine earrings that can be worn flowing upwards along the ear or downwards showing off their alluring curves.

I like to think that #PowerWoman Amelia Earhart would approve.
